SUPPORT FMAS

There are many different ways that you can help the Manchester Animal Shelter. Please know that we absolutely depend on the support and generosity of the community, and we are grateful for anything you can do to help us care for Manchester's sick, injured, and homeless animals. Please read below and choose the way that is most fulfilling for you.

Please know that as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, cash donations made to the shelter are fully tax deductible as allowed by law.

Donate Your Old Vehicle to FMAS

Here's a great way to help the animals at the shelter and claim a nice tax deduction for yourself! The FMAS Vehicle Donation Program provides a charitable way to get rid of an old car, truck, boat, camper, motorcycle, or tractor all while giving you a nice tax deduction when April 15th rolls around. Here's how it works:

  • Vehicles donated to the program are picked up from your home and sold at local auction.
  • Vehicles that resell over $500 claim a tax deduction equal to the actual resale amount.
  • Vehicles that sell for less than $500 can take a flat $500 tax deduction on the donation.

Ideally, cars and trucks should be no more than ten years old, however exceptions may be made for later models. They must run, have keys, and there must be a clean title in the donor's name. A clean title is one with NO markings on the back side, NO liens against the vehicle, and one that has not been branded as unrepaired salvage or owner-retained (i.e. insurance buy-back).

Each vehicle that is auctioned through the program generates funds for the Manchester Animal Shelter which are used to provide care in the form of shelter, food, medical attention and medicine for the city's stray and abandoned animals.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact the Manchester Animal Shelter (603)628-3544 and tell them you are interested in the FMAS Vehicle Donation Program.
