April 2018 Newsletter

Spring is here and Ellie is so happy to have found her forever home!  She was found huddled in the bushes in Manchester.  This 10 year old wiggled her way into our hearts and now has discovered her love of hats and walks in the sunshine with her new family.
The month of March and beginning of April has brought us a kitten with a cleft palate, a 7 pack of elderly min pins, a litter of rambunctious puppies, pregnant momma cats and much more!   Without the support of our volunteers and supporters like you, we would not be able to continue to give Manchester’s stray, abandoned and abused animals a better tomorrow.
When they say “opposites attract,” they certainly are talking about this months featured Happy “Tails.”  This odd couple connected at the shelter. Fozzie (Black) was 10 months old and a very outgoing, “life of the party” kind of guy!  Everdeane (Grey) was 8 months old,  lost a sibling and was looking for a protector.
While they came from very different places and situations, you could always find them cuddling together, of course until Fozzie noticed that there were people in the room to love him!
We got a great update from Fozzie and Everdeane’s forever family and are happy to announce that the pair is doing GREAT!  Fozzie is as happy and friendly as ever and his “other half” has started to make herself at home.  We are so excited for them and are happy that they have patient, loving people to care for them!
The Putts for Paws Golf Classic is less than a month away! It will be held Friday, May 4th at Stonebridge Country Club.  Playing in the tournament is a tax deductible donation as is    sponsoring. We are still registering golfers and still looking for $100,$200, $300 and $500 sponsors!  Reach out to our events coordinator at events@manchesteranimalshelter.org for more info!
Luckily the bugs have not arrived yet…but when they do , we will be armed with Bug Shield from The Smelly Hippie Apothecary!  Locally made in Chichester NH-All Natural Products made with Peace, Love & Organic ingredients also Vegan Friendly and use all recycled shipping products. This month they are giving 25% of all of their online sales to the shelter so go check them out!
Meet Tigress! She is 5 years old and has been with us since December.  Her purrrfect home would be a quiet one with no young children as she can get a bit sassy.  She would tolerate well behaved cats and dogs but the ideal home would be one where she is the queen.  She is eager for attention and will capture you with those emerald green eyes, begging for a pet or a scratch, as you walk by.
If you are cat savvy and looking for an independent lady come  by and visit!
This handsome 2 yr. old Boxer mix is looking for his new home. He can be a little shy at first but once he gets to know you he is ALL cuddles! Tyler would love to hike the mountains and run and chase balls. He would be best as the only pet right now in an adult home until he gains the confidence to meet some doggie friends and new people. A dog savvy home who is willing to put in the time, patience, and training is the home that he will thrive in! A nice quiet home without too much commotion would help, as he does get excited easily.
Do you have the right home, experience, and willingness to help Tyler adjust and thrive?

Our Humans
Lil is one of our “PAW” some volunteers!  She gives her time each week and does so in hopes of aiding another  animal to make it into a loving,  forever home.

When asked about why she feels people should adopt a pet, she told us,  ” I  think that people should adopt a dog because they love animals and have a place in their hearts, home and schedule  that needs a four legged buddy to care for, teach, and  grow old with. Adopting an animal is a commitment that will give love, companionship and warmth but comes with daily responsibility,  time, money and patience. “
