Spring has “sprung” and the warm weather has arrived! We are still reeling from the success of our 12th Annual Plant Sale to benefit the Shelter. With the support of our wonderful volunteers, growers, plant donors and all those of you who came to make purchases- we were able to raise over $17,000!!!! That’s something to PURR about!
Now that we have our beautiful plants in the ground, we are ready to do some spring cleaning. Did you know that we have crates, kennels and gates for sale at the shelter for just $10? Come on by and see if we have one that suits your needs!
On Saturday, July 14 from 8AM-3PM, one of our gracious supporters will be having a Yard Sale that will benefit the shelter. Keep an eye on our website andfacebook for location information (the event WILL NOT be held at the shelter).
Tigress came to us with some medical issues and was a bit “cranky” to say the least. We had our vet get her well and although she was healthy and ready to go to a loving home, her “torti-tude” at the shelter, often had her being overlooked.  She spent a bit of time as the queen of our fabulous cat community room and began really warming up to people. A lovely couple was ready to add this sassy girl to their family and Tigress was adopted!
Her new parents said “On Friday my husband and I were lucky enough to take home the lovely Tigress. We love her to pieces, and we’re so happy to have her join our family. She absolutely hasn’t stopped purring ever since we brought her home. On the first night she even laid on my husbands lap (which I’m quite jealous of) and loves to sleep at the end of our bed. We have realized that some of the toys we bought she absolutely loves. (But specifically loves this brush I bought to help keep her fur looking gorgeous). She loves attention, and we love giving it to her! I just want to say a big thank you to the Manchester Animal Shelter for accepting our application. We are absolutely in love with her! Here is a picture of our beautiful girl laying on my husband’s lap the first night we got her! 💕”
She can be seen above, in the “lap” of luxury. Tigress clearly just needed a home to call her own to let down her guard and be a love bug. We are so happy that she has found her forever home!

Miss Monique LOVES to LOVE!  She arrived at the shelter after her person moved and couldn’t take her along. She is a bit shell shocked to not be in her home, so she is not the most outgoing kitty right now. That said, if you sit with her and start gently petting her, she explodes into purrs and rolls over, just overjoyed to have your attention. Monique told us that she is wishing for a calm and quiet home where she can bask in the sun and be your lap kitty. She would probably do best in a home without dogs or children, although she is fine with other relaxed cats. A peaceful home with a quiet routine would suit her best. If the sound the loud purring of a cat to be a joyful one, then this pretty girl is the one for you. Come in to Petsmart Manchester to meet princess Monique soon! The hours when you can personally meet and interact with Monique are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6-8 pm, and Sunday from 1-3 pm.
