The Manchester Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing a second chance for shelter pets by pairing them with America’s veterans. This program is free for approved veterans.
Who Is Eligible?
Veterans with a condition who could benefit from an animal companion and can take care of a pet.
Our Goal:
Our goal is to help heal the emotional wounds of Military Veterans by pairing them with a shelter animal at no cost to the veteran.
Our Shelter animals receive a second chance for a new home while the veterans are given a second chance for health and happiness.
There is a section on adoption applications that a veteran will check off.
Benefits:
If a veteran, application is screened as normal and if approved we will provide the following:
- Waived adoption fee, which includes spay/neuter and vaccinations
- Food and water bowls (if needed)
- Food: Up to 25 pounds
- Leash and collar if a canine
- Litter scooper or poop bags
- Toys
At the time of application, the veteran must show a letter from their doctor stating this veteran will benefit from adopting a companion animal.
Adoptable Animals
