At Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter, our volunteers make an incredible difference in the lives of the animals in our care every single day. This month, we are proud to shine a spotlight on one of our amazing Cat Care Volunteers, Jesi Watson.
Jesi has been with us for 11 months and has already dedicated 154 hours of volunteer time to our cats. In that time, she has become an invaluable part of our team. Not only is she a dedicated and dependable volunteer, but she also helps train new cat volunteers, sharing her knowledge and setting a wonderful example for others.
Jesi comes in three to four times each week, consistently giving her all to every cat she cares for. She has a special gift for working with some of our more spirited cats, and she has also earned access to some of our more reserved cats in the back building. Her patience, compassion, and understanding help each cat feel safe, seen, and cared for as an individual.
In addition to her hands-on work with the cats, Jesi is always looking for extra ways to help around the shelter. Whether she is doing laundry, washing dishes, cleaning, or jumping in wherever she is needed, she is always ready to lend a hand. Her positive attitude and willingness to help make her a joy to work with.
Jesi also has a wonderful talent for photography. She regularly captures beautiful photos of our cats that showcase their unique personalities and help others see just how special they are. Some of the cats she has photographed include Cooper, Catherine O’Hara, and Tina, and her images beautifully reflect the love and attention she gives to the animals in our care.
We are so grateful to have Jesi as part of the Manchester Animal Shelter team. Her dedication, kindness, and commitment mean so much to our staff, our volunteers, and most importantly, our cats.
Thank you, Jesi, for all that you do!
